Harassment Prevention Training to be distributed on Oct. 12 and completed by Dec. 12

Oct. 9, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

As we continue to live our Unifying Values to uphold a culture that fosters a welcoming and safe environment for all to learn, research, and work, it is only fitting that our faculty, staff, and student workers – including in academic- and healthcare-specific roles – also fulfill our responsibility to complete Harassment Prevention Training, biennially. Our next cycle starts Oct. 12, and we are writing to inform you of helpful resources as you prepare to complete the training module.

Harassment Prevention Training

Similar to many of our AAU peer universities, the university has contracted with Vector Solutions (formerly EverFi) to implement the state-required Harassment Prevention Training. When it launches, you will receive an email from USC TrojanLearn assigning the training to you. You will have until Dec. 12, 2023 to complete the training. Throughout this cycle, you will receive TrojanLearn reminders, and we encourage you to schedule time on your calendar to ensure you give your full attention to this important training that covers:

  • How to identify potential discrimination and harassment, including sexual and gender-based harassment and related retaliation;
  • How to make a report; and
  • Where to go for help and support.

Additional Resources

Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX (EEO-TIX)
The EEO-TIX team is available at eeotix@usc.edu should you have any questions about course content. We welcome you to explore their website, which includes information about the university’s Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation and Resolution Processes.

HR Service Center
Should you have any questions or issues with accessing TrojanLearn or the Harassment Prevention Training, our HR Service Center associates are prepared to assist you at 213-821-8100 or uschr@usc.edu.

Notice of Non-Discrimination
Central to USC’s commitment to embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion is our Notice of Non-Discrimination. Easily accessible from the footer of the Employee Gateway and the EEO-TIX website, the Notice of Non-Discrimination makes clear the university prohibits discrimination and unlawful harassment based on characteristics protected under federal, state, and local laws.

Report & Response Website
We know our community is busy, and when concerns arise, it’s important to be able to quickly and easily access resources that provide help and support, which is why USC recently launched the Report & Response website. We encourage you to visit and familiarize yourself with this one simple place where our community can report concerns and access confidential and supportive resources, frequently asked questions, and information on Faculty and Staff Reporting Responsibilities.

We appreciate your commitment to completing this training and incorporating what you learn into your daily lives as Trojans. Together, we will continue to shape a future rooted in a culture guided by our Unifying Values and where all are treated with respect.

Fight On!
