Stacy Giwa, Interim Senior Vice President

Stacy Giwa is interim senior vice president of human resources. In this capacity, she leads USC’s Human Resources, Equity, and Compliance division, where she previously held the role of vice president of culture, ethics, and compliance and chief compliance officer. 

Giwa arrived at USC in November 2018 with a proven track record as an experienced leader in client services, employee engagement, and employee relations; ethics and compliance; culture; and risk assessment. Intent on highlighting the care underlining compliance, she partnered with experts across USC to oversee the university’s compliance program, addressing key areas that include privacy, research compliance, export, conflict of interest, and ADA compliance. She is also known across the university for her exemplary work in leading our Culture Journey.

Stacy Giwa

Before joining USC, Giwa was a principal at Ernst & Young in the Forensics and Integrity Services unit, working extensively with clients, across diverse industries, on the design, development, and assessment of comprehensive, risk-based compliance and ethics programs. As a former member of their Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Committee, she also helped lead employee satisfaction efforts for the West Coast Forensics and Integrity Services group.

Prior to Ernst & Young, Giwa worked at Southern California Edison (SCE), where she started as a labor and employment attorney and went on to become a member of the senior leadership team holding the position of vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer. As an attorney at SCE, she advised on a wide-range of human resource and union related matters, progressed to key leadership roles in human resources, diversity and inclusion, and she partnered with key leaders to design and implement the overarching ethics and compliance program. 

Giwa holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, a J.D. from Pepperdine University, and is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
